  • The Bert Nash Center is the designated community mental health center & the certified community behavioral health clinic for Douglas County, KS. Their mission is to advance the health of the Douglas County community through comprehensive behavioral health services responsive to evolving needs and changing environments.

  • The Mobile Response Team (MRT) serves clients that are experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis. The MRT deploys to the crisis location to assess the situation and decide as to the next step in the service provision continuum.

    Douglas County residents can call 785-841-2345 or 988 to receive support from trained counselors at Kansas Suicide Prevention Headquarters (KSPHQ). After a crisis call is received, KSPHQ will make a determination that the crisis team should be dispatched, then the MRT will meet the individual in their environment.

The suicide rate in Kansas is up 45% since 1999. This is the 5th highest rate of increase in the U.S., only four states had a higher rate of increase than Kansas.
