The first YEP! county meeting recently look place and was centered around raising awareness and promoting prevention of substance misuse among youth. Participants engaged in an open discussion about the importance of understanding the impacts of substance use and how it affects individuals, families, and the broader community.

As part of the interactive portion, students got the opportunity to participate in a creative activity where they painted substance misuse prevention messages with a spooky Halloween twist!

Save the date! The Leading Causes of Life 5K and Festival returns on May 2nd, 2026. This year’s event had a fantastic turnout with local resources, live music, food trucks and tons of fun. We hope to see you for the 2026 celebration!

Question, Persuade Refer Is a one-hour gatekeeper training that covers how to get help for someone experiencing a mental health crisis. These trainings are available free of charge to anyone who would like to be more prepared to address an emergency situation. Learn how you can get help for yourself or someone you care about, the warning signs to look for, and the common causes of suicidal behavior during a QPR session.

The Kansas Fights Addiction program has created an eight-week long paid internship available to high schoolers to gain hands-on experience in the field of behavioral health. Interns will explore various careers within the behavioral health field through research, informational interviews, and community involvement. By the end of the program, students will have gained valuable skills to help them beyond high school with areas like communication, organization, public speaking and more.
