Leading Causes of Life Festival & 5K!

It’s just a handful of weeks away! We hope to see our coalition partners and lots of community members out for the Leading Causes of Life Festival & 5K on April 26th! This family-friendly event features food, fun, and a 5K to raise awareness around youth suicide prevention here in Douglas County. You can also connect with community resource providers and grab free food and drinks!

Take Down Tobacco Day

On March 5 students from YEP! visited the Kansas State Capitol for Take Down Tobacco Day, a national day of activism on which youth are encouraged to speak out against commercial tobacco companies and speak with policymakers about tobacco prevention.

Take Down Tobacco Day provides an opportunity to educate students about the importance of youth when it comes to tobacco use prevention, and the opportunity to connect them with local government representatives.

Engaged in Action Awards 2025

The Engaged in Action Awards are back! If you aren’t familiar with them, the Engaged in Action Awards recognize individuals or organizations who are committed to making a difference in Douglas County, and exemplify the mission and values of Engage Douglas County.

Nominations are due by May 2nd and save the date for the awards on June 5th!

#NDAFW 2025

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week has started! This week long campaign takes place from March 17th until March 23rd and focuses on the science of drug use and addition, to educate and empower youth to make informed decisions about substance use and their health. You can join in by creating content about NDAFW or sharing posts from the Engage Douglas County Facebook or Instagram.
