CADCA Mid-Year

Several students from YEP! attended the CADCA Mid-Year Training Conference in Chicago, where they spent hands-on time with prevention professionals and community leaders. This event provided training from top experts in the field, information and tools to take prevention work to the next level, and was specialized in youth leadership training!

Behavioral Health Prevention Summit

Join us virtually each Tuesday (12:00-1:00 p.m.) and Thursday (6:00-7:00 p.m.) between September 10th-26th for the Douglas County Behavioral Health Prevention Summit. The summit is designed to guide participants through practical strategies while pursuing a plan for behavioral health prevention in their communities.

Specific topics of focus will include opioid, marijuana, suicide, and vaping prevention, as well as mental health promotion and supporting youth and families.

Be sure to attend the kickoff event on September 4th at the Kansas Union Ballroom on Kansas University Campus!

DEC Candlelight Vigil & Clothesline Project

#BeMoreLikeClaire invites you to attend Candlelight Vigil & Clothesline Project for Domestic Violence Awareness Month on October 1st!

The Clothesline Project is a collective public exhibit of t-shirts created by survivors of violence and those who have lost a loved one to violence. In the public display, each shirt is hung so that viewers can witness the impact of domestic violence in our community. Join us in this empowering event designed to bring healing to survivors of violence, education about violence, and violence prevention.

Organizations and groups interested in tabling at this event should complete the Vendor Application no later than Monday, September 15, 2024. Organizations will need to bring their own table, chairs, and supplies. Resource Fair Participants are encouraged to participate in the vigil that will occur directly after the resource fair.
